May 15 & 16

Rain ended at 8:30 PM last night. Did not rain anymore. Around 3 AM, I was woken up by loud thunder. Heard another.

Woke up to a gloomy sky that eventually cleared up. Whole day was cloudy. Spotted cumulus clouds.

Convection over Paracelis but very light drizzle over Cabatuan that stopped often.

Around 11 PM, consistent heavy rainfall.

May 16

Woke up to a wet surroundings. Canal filled with water. Pools on the road. Dark skies with the brightening east.

Favorable conditions brought by the trough in the North.

May 16 afternoon and early evening with distant thunderstorm and lightning.

Heavy rain at 6:00 PM that lasted until 9:00 PM.

Dry for the past 16 days. No rain. For those days, only the northern Cagayan areas had popcorn convection. This morning was humid, 30° at 7 am. Two days ago it was 28°. I guessed it would rain today. Correct. Convection occured over Natonin. In my observations, convections that occur around Paracelis would mean rain reaching the valley. Would I be correct? I'll upload videos on my Threads.  Things I learned today: kelvin wave, spring variability See the flooded ground? Dry, compact soil is less absorbent. This is the reason why torrential downpours that happen after long stretches of dry weather cause flooding. The soil is not ready to absorb the water.
