Dry for the past 16 days. No rain. For those days, only the northern Cagayan areas had popcorn convection. This morning was humid, 30° at 7 am. Two days ago it was 28°. I guessed it would rain today. Correct. Convection occured over Natonin. In my observations, convections that occur around Paracelis would mean rain reaching the valley. Would I be correct? I'll upload videos on my Threads.  Things I learned today: kelvin wave, spring variability See the flooded ground? Dry, compact soil is less absorbent. This is the reason why torrential downpours that happen after long stretches of dry weather cause flooding. The soil is not ready to absorb the water.

I was not expecting rain today. We had big clouds nevertheless. We had a short burst of rain for 30 mins around 7:00 PM. You can even see the rain in the clouds in the picture below.

May 25 - Very Hot Day

Early morning temp was 31°C. I don't know if it was my shirt or this day was just intolerably hot. I was in bed for a good 30 minutes in the afternoon dreading to move. Natsubate is a Japanese word that means "summer fatigue" or "summer heat exhaustion." Forecasts say lower than 50% chance of rain in my area. I gave up hope for good precipitation. However, the heavy rain started at 6:45 PM. Good rain until 7:15 PM.
